Who I am

If you are reading counsellors’ profiles, you must be thinking about having some counselling. This may feel very daunting, perhaps because it is the first time you have thought about it and aren’t sure if it is for you or you may feel discouraged about returning to counselling and ‘starting again’ with a new counsellor. Making that first step either way is not easy. I thought it might help to let you know what counselling can help with, how it works and what I personally can offer.

Experience

I have several years’ experience working for charitable organisations as well as privately.  I have also worked in the NHS.  I have some experience in mediation.  Although I have worked with a wide variety of clients I appreciate that everyone experiences similar issues and concerns quite differently.

I also welcome students who require counselling as part of their training course - I am humanistically trained but am also familiar with integrative models.  I consider it a privilege to support trainee counsellors at the start of their counselling career.

Qualifications and training

  • Level 4 Advanced Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
  • Certificate of Proficiency (BACP)
  • BACP accreditation
  • A wide variety of Continuing Professional Development courses, including working with anxiety, depression, anger and trauma.
  • Walk and talk therapy
  • Level 6 diploma in therapeutic supervision
